What is a meal plan?

ISU Dining offers students the opportunity to purchase meals and Dining Dollar$ in advance at a discount and redeem them throughout the year via a meal plan. Students residing in the undergraduate residence halls are required to purchase meal plans as part of their room and board contracts. Any student, regardless of where they live, may purchase a meal plan.

How does a meal plan work?

Meal plans are purchased at the beginning of the academic year for both fall and spring semesters. There are two values included in a meal plan: “meals” and “Dining Dollar$.” Meals may be redeemed at any residential dining center. Dining Dollar$ may be used in residential dining centers and in all other locations. To use your meal plan, simply present your ISUCard at any ISU Dining facility, and the value of your purchase will be automatically subtracted from your plan.
