Meal Plan Requirements

Students living in Buchanan Hall, Richardson Court or Union Drive are required to contract for either a Cyclone Plan or a Block Plus Plan. Students living in Wallace Hall, Frederiksen Court, SUV or off-campus are encouraged, but not required to contract for a meal plan. With 12 different options to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find one that fits your lifestyle!

Cyclone Plans

Cyclone Plans offer a combination of residential dining center meals and Dining Dollar$ with meals allotted on a weekly basis (Saturday – Friday). Meals not used at the end of each meal week are lost. Please note: Once issued, Plan Dining Dollar$ are not refundable. If you change to a plan with a lower amount of Dining Dollar$ you will be required to keep the Dining Dollar$ associated with your previous plan.

Block Plus Plans

Block Plus plans also offer a combination of dining center meals and Dining Dollar$. However, meals are allotted by semester rather than by week, offering more flexibility than traditional meal plans. Meals not used at the end of each semester are lost. Please note: Once issued, Plan Dining Dollar$ are not refundable. If you change to a plan with a lower amount of Dining Dollar$ you will be required to keep the Dining Dollar$ associated with your previous plan.

Meal Blocks

Meal Blocks consist of residential dining center meals only (without Dining Dollar$). Unused meals at the end of the fall semester roll over to the spring semester. Unused meals at the end of the spring semester are lost

Residents of Wallace Hall, Frederiksen Court, SUV and off-campus residents can purchase Meal Blocks at any time throughout the year on AccessPlus. Residents in Buchanan Hall, Richardson Court and Union Drive are not eligible to purchase Meal Blocks.

Dining Dollar$

Dining Dollar$ can be redeemed at any ISU Dining Center, Café, C-Store or the MU Food Court and are a convenient way to make dining purchases without the hassles of carrying cash. Any student can purchase additional Dining Dollar$, at any time on Access Plus, in increments of $10. For Dining Dollar$ purchased in amounts of $200 or more, discounts apply. The more you buy, the more you save.

Please note: Once purchased, Dining Dollar$ are not refundable. All Cyclone and Block Plus meal plans come with an allotment of Dining Dollar$ each semester. Individuals who have these plans should purchase additional Dining Dollar$ only if their plan Dining Dollar$ run out.
