Nutrition

At Iowa State we are constantly striving to improve services to our students so that they can have access to the best environment possible to learn in.  This effort is not spared when it comes to ISU Dining where the same spirit of improvement can be seen in our Farm to ISU, Sustainability, and Nutrition Education programs.

With the current focus on the obesity trends and the increase in health problems within our society, teaching students how to have a healthier lifestyle is important.  The Nutrition Education program has recently been added in an effort to educate students about nutrition in an informative and reliable way.  We have met this need by providing web pages devoted to understanding the basics of nutrition coupled with articles on the current topics going on today.  We have provided reliable resources for you to find out more information on a wide range of topics as well as giving tips on how to eat healthy on campus.

Also, check out our awareness campaigns going on each month in all of the dining centers during Fall and Spring semesters on select topics.  There will be informational handouts, demonstrations, activities, and free stuff!  Schedules are posted in the dining centers and each will be visited twice each month.

If you have any general questions about nutrition please contact the Nutrition Education student coordinator Jill DeWitte at jdewitte@iastate.edu.
