Iowa State University of Science and Technology Mobile Message Service Terms

 

ISU Dining at Iowa State University of Science and Technology offers a service through which it can send messages to your mobile device (“Mobile Message Service”). The messages may include text alerts, reminders, updates, promotions, specials, and other marketing offers from ISU Dining. Iowa State University may provide the Mobile Message Service itself or do so through a third party service provider. The frequency at which Iowa State University sends mobile messages varies.

You do not need to participate in the Mobile Message Service. Your participation in the Mobile Message Service is completely voluntary.

Opt-In Information

You may elect to opt-in to the Mobile Message Service by supplying your mobile number to us. By opting-in, you consent to these Mobile Message Service Terms and to receive messages on your mobile device from Iowa State University or its third party service provider via automated telephone dialing systems or other automated technology. Iowa State University does not charge you for sending or receiving text messages through the Mobile Message Service. However, you are responsible for any message and data rates imposed by your mobile provider.

By opting-in to the Mobile Message Service, you confirm the following:

  • You have provided a valid number for your mobile device.
  • You are the owner or authorized user of the mobile device and the number provided.
  • You agree to contact dining@iastate.edu if your mobile device number changes or you are no longer the owner or authorized user of the number.
  • You understand that your use of the Mobile Message Service is subject to Iowa State University’s Electronic Privacy policy and Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources policy, and you agree to comply with those policies as applicable.

Supported Carriers

The following is a list of carriers that support the Mobile Message Service (“Supported Carriers”). Supported Carriers may change at any time. Not all devices and Supported Carriers support all message types, content, formatting, and services.

Opt-Out Information

If you no longer wish to receive messages on your mobile device through the Mobile Message Service, you may elect to opt-out of the Mobile Message Service by replying, STOP, QUIT, CANCEL, OPT-OUT, and/or UNSUBSCRIBE to any mobile message from ISU Dining.  You may continue to receive text messages for a short period while we process your request and you may receive a one-time opt-out confirmation message.

You can get help with the Mobile Message Service by replying HELP to any mobile message from ISU Dining.

Disclaimer of Warranty and Liability

The Mobile Message Service is offered on an “as-is” basis and may not be available in all areas, at all times, or on all mobile providers. You agree that neither Iowa State University nor its third party service provider will be liable for any failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any mobile message or information sent through the Mobile Message Service.

Modifications

Iowa State University may modify or cancel the Mobile Message Service or any of its features at any time, with or without notice. Iowa State University may also modify these Mobile Message Service Terms at any time. Any such modification will take effect when it is posted to Iowa State University’s website. You agree to review these Mobile Message Service Terms periodically to ensure that you are aware of any modifications. By continuing to access and use the Mobile Message Service, you are indicating your acceptance of such modifications.
