We are looking for local, civic, community, school and other non-profit organizations who would like to fundraise for their organizations. Please find more information below, about the conference and how to raise $ for your non-profit group and cause.
May 24-29, 2022, the City of Ames and Iowa State University will host The Odyssey of the Mind World Finals Conference. ISU Dining will provide dining services to the many participants who will be attending this conference. We need your help in providing the high quality of services that Ames and ISU Dining are known for.
Any non-profit organizations interested in earning extra money for their organization may participate. Expected duties might include serving meals, dining room service, dishwashing, and miscellaneous cleaning duties. Each 3-hour shift would involve standing, lifting, and moving around. Groups would be assigned to one of our dining facilities for the entirety of the conference for a specific meal period.
The specific meal period your group may choose from would be:
- May 25-29 All Breakfast meals (5 days)
- May 25-28 All Lunch meals (4 days)
- May 24-28 All Dinner meals (5 days)
- If a group has enough participants, two meal periods may be chosen but the need to attend all days of both meals is necessary.
Organize your members/families/friends, etc. to assist your group and create a team(s). A team would consist of one Team Leader and four members (5 total workers) each day.
A Team Leader must be present each day, two people may share the responsibility attending on different days during the event. Team members may vary from day to day with four members in attendance for each day. Suggestion: ask members to work multiple days but explain they are not committing themselves to work every day.
All Team Leaders and workers must be age 18 or older by May 24th, 2022. Each Team Leader must attend an orientation program prior to May 24th, 2022 (actual dates to be determined). The Team Leaders will be responsible for their group members (ability to perform tasks, transportation, training, signed forms for each member, and supervision during the shift).
